Rock Spring League Update - Spring 2020 Cancelled
Rock Spring League Coaches, Managers and Field Coordinators,
I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy. As you know, our leadership team has been holding out hope that we might be able to play a spring travel season, once the state government approved a resumption of outdoor activities including soccer. Unfortunately, based on the government’s daily updates and plan for reopening, we feel we’ve reached a point where playing the 2019-2020 season seems unlikely. We are disappointed, but feel that the health and safety of our teams and their families is paramount and know that a decision at this point is the correct one. A decision at this time will allow teams to begin to focus on tryouts, and their team formations for the fall season.
Our plan for Rock Spring League 2021 is to move registration and scheduling into the new Got Soccer system that EPYSA is implementing for this fall. This will allow teams to earn Got Soccer points for Rock Spring League games. I will have more information on that further into the year, but I wanted to pass along that information now, so you know I’ve been working behind the scenes on growing opportunities for all teams that play in the league.
My plan is to offer a full credit for next season to each team that was registered this year or a refund minus $4 (to cover charges from Demosphere). If you select the credit, you will be locked into this year’s pricing, even with the move to Got Soccer in Spring 2021. If you select the refund, I will get a check out in the mail. I will just need to hear from all of you with your decision – so I have created a google form and will ask one representative from each team to fill out this form to indicate how you would like to team registration from this season returned. Please bear with me, as I will need to be addressing the needs of over 450 teams, but I will take care of this as quickly as possible. Be sure to submit your form in the next couple of days. CLUB LEADERS – If I can submit one check to your club, to cover all of your team refunds, that would be ideal, but I understand if it is not possible. Please email with any questions you might have, and I’m happy to assist.
My sincere thanks to all of you for registering to play with us this season. No one could have anticipated such unprecedented events to affect youth sports in the way that they have, and I appreciate your patience while we attempted to work through this together. I’m not sure I can adequately describe how sad and disappointed I am that I wasn’t able to come through for you all and pull this off….please keep your families safe and healthy and I hope to see everyone outside one day soon.
