CRUSA / FC Bucks announces Daniel Clitnovici as Girls Director of Coaching

CRUSA / FC Bucks is excited to announce the acquisition of Daniel Clitnovici as the new Girls Director of Coaching and ECNL Director. Seasoned club director Clitnovici joins CRUSA / FC Bucks to spearhead the new direction of the club and to reshape the player development pathway for all members and its coaches.

Clitnovici brings more than 15 years of coaching experience with him to FC Bucks, with stops at Colorado Rapids of the MLS, Western New York Flash of the ECNL and NWSL and both The Ohio State University and Villanova University of the NCAA Division 1. Coach Clitnovici is the current Associate Head Coach for Division 1. program Villanova University Women’s Soccer.

CRUSA / FC Bucks Director of Coaching Chris McLain was full of praise for his latest addition, “Initially when I wanted to bring Daniel to FC Bucks I didn’t think it was possible.  It’s not every day you can attract one of the best coaches and directors in the country to join your staff and start rebuilding a youth club, but it is my extreme pleasure to announce that after much background work we got Daniel to join our staff and take an active role by working with both players and coaches, and we are excited to welcome him to the CRUSA / FC Bucks family”.

Daniel Clitnovici is no stranger to elite level youth clubs having been the Director of Coaching for the ECNL club WNY Flash Academy and guiding the Western New York based group to prominent successes both on and off the field. Coach Clitnovici has helped develop many current youth national team and senior national team players and has assisted hundreds of players take the necessary steps to either a collegiate career and then on further to the professional levels. 

Daniel’s experience doesn’t stop at the elite youth level as he held prominent leadership roles with notable clubs such as the Colorado Rapids and the WNY Flash. He has coached against some of the best professional players and coaches in the world having been the head coach of the Colorado Pride Women (USL-WLeague), Colorado Rapids Women (USL-WLeague) and the First Assistant with the WNY Flash of the (NWSL).

Coach Clitnovici has an extensive background as a player, having played professionally in Europe for over 10 years with notable clubs in England (Barnsley FC.), Spain (Elche CF.), Romania (Universitatea Craiova) and Greece (Apollon Smyrnis) as well as playing in his native homeland of Australia (Gold Coast FC.).
